artvideoKOELN _ audiovisual experiences 01
that’s the name of a series of events around the topic of „audiovisual art“, developed by the Cologne based media artist and curator, Wilfried Agricola de Cologne. The 1st edition will be realised in collaboration with TENRI – German Cultural Centre located at the old Southern part of the city of Cologne.
Launched in 2005 by Agricola de Cologne, as a curatorial initiative artvideoKOELN was during the past 10 years the driving power behind CologneOFF – Cologne International Videoart Festival – an unique festival project of its kind exporting media art from Cologne in collaboration with networking partners all over the world.
The event on 16 May 2015 will present on the different spatial levels at TENRI a selection of art videos and film by more than 410 international artists from 61 countries following an open call for submitting audiovisual works.
Selected by the jury consisting of Kai-Welf Hoyme (Cologne) – Yoshiro Shimizu (Cologne) – Wilfried Agricola de Cologne (Cologne), the videos will be presented in different formats – screening, projection and installation, including also programs of CologneOFF’s international partners Now & After International Videoart Festival Moscow (Russia), VideoBabel – International Festival of Audiovisual Art Cusco (Peru) & Athens Digital Arts Festival (Greece), as well as as an introduction by Wilfried Agricola de Cologne and an artists talk including invited Cologne based video creators, moderated by Wilfried Agricola de Cologne.
